Alerts

The alert emails, the thresholds that trigger them, and what each message says.

A key can carry one alert email. When that key crosses a PV or UV threshold, the gateway mails the address. Alerts are off until an address is set, and clearing the field turns them off again.

Alert emails come with the Basic plan and up: a FREE key has no such field. An address set on a paid plan survives the subscription lapsing, and clearing it is allowed on every plan.

What triggers an email

AlertSent whenCallers get
Quota 75% usedThe key served 75% of its daily PV quotaNothing is blocked yet
Quota exhaustedThe key served its whole daily quota403 pv quota fused
Visitor limit reachedThe key served its daily allowance of distinct visitors429 uv quota exceeded for new visitors

Two details are worth knowing, because they decide how noisy the mail is:

  • The 75% warning and the exhausted fuse are separate messages. A key that runs out of quota in one day produces both, in that order.
  • The visitor-limit message is sent once per day per key. The block itself is not: every newcomer is blocked for the rest of the day, and none of those blocks sends another email.
  • Hitting a single visitor's per-visitor cap does not notify anyone — that is a caller looping, not a leak.

What the message says

The mail is plain text and repeats everything needed to act on it without opening the console: the key's name, today's numbers against its quotas, what happens to callers now, and the one thing worth doing. For example:

code
"landing-demo" — All 1000 daily requests used, forwarding stopped.

The gateway is refusing this key's calls with HTTP 403 and your provider is no
longer being called, so nothing is being billed upstream. The counter resets at
00:00 UTC.

Today so far (UTC 2026-09-13)
  Requests served 1000 / 1000
  Distinct visitors 41 / 100

What to do: Raise the request quota to resume now, or wait for the reset.
Console: https://sluiceline.com/dashboard/manage

The subject names the key and the crossing — [Sluiceline] landing-demo stopped forwarding: daily request quota reached — so a mailbox rule can file these without opening them.
